This is my reef tank(40gallon)
My equipments:
Tank: 40 breeder
Sump: 20gal long
Lighting: Kessil Apex
Flow: 3 tunze 6045
ATO: Tunze 3155 osmolator
Filtration: Reef Octopus essence S130 protein skimmer and good ol fashion live rocks. Filter socks sometimes.
additives: combined kalkwasser in ATO water and All-For-Reef on 1 doser pump on a smart plug. That's about it.

No heater for me (I live in central Florida, I don't see the point of adding another failing point in the tank when it's already hot outside)
No rollermat(might change one day)
No Neptune$$$$/controller(I do use smart plugs for power heads and return pump and my ap9x comes with it's own app)

My story:
I started reef keeping back in 2009. I gave the hobby a break after my 2nd daughter was born back in 2016.
I missed the hobby and got back in April 2021 with this smaller, easier to maintain tank. And here is the process:

I still had some dry rock I purchased from BRS back in 2015.

Drilling the tank with the wife for overflow box. I really liked the design of my old red sea max 250, so I copied it a bit in my 40 gallon.

Painting the back glass and stand

Glued and cemented the rocks for some aquascaping.

Awesome!
What's the deal with the fish net/mesh stuff hanging into back in the last set of pictures -- DIY lid in progress?
I made my cheap custom lid by using egg crate, zip ties and some bird net from home Depot lol
Couldn't find a lid that would work exactly for my tank with my overflow box and auto feeder.
