My 40 gallon recife build

Always enjoy these updates, espicially watching the Goni's. You will most likely be the push i need to try them out once my tank matures.
With the way your tank is looking, I would have full faith in you to keep gonis! Thank you my friend

Absolutely stunning as always man! That Welsophyllia is truly a showpiece in that tank!
Always good to see you stop by, friend, I really appreciate that. I love the wellsophyllia too, and it is surprisingly one of the easiest and happiest corals in my tank!

As everyone has already said beautiful tank! This is the goal!
That is so kind of you.
I was scared to death when I bought my first few corals lol. As time has progressed, I've gotten a little more confident in myself.

Thanks my friend. Please feel free to drop by anytime, and if you ever have any questions, please dont hesitate to reach out.

@des0620 Do you have a build thread?
Id love to hear what direction you want to take your tank.
You can always stop by and ask questions OR just show off!

@des0620 Ok ignore me my friend. Lol I found it and Im already following.
ignore go away GIF

Mr. Baker was a very interesting cat! You ever see the documentary about him?
Yes! He hit that guy with his cane! Lol, the whole "interview" was G Baker sitting in his recliner, chain smoking.

I have built a floating reef in the exact tank; if I can find pictures, I will send them! I love the tank, and it is very well made. Also welcome to the fam! This hobby can be very rewarding but also a pain at the same time.

this is it before corals!

Is that the Kraken reef lid? Love this floating rock wall. How'd you pull this look off my friend?
It is! This is the only pic I could find during the build process that I took but pretty much took 0.220 acrylic from Home Depot. Mock cut it down to around about the size, heated and bent a bottom and top. And then I Drilled holes within it (for water flow!)

Mounting it was easy as I just used the 100% silicone with a box supporting it underneath. I let it sit for 2 days, after that I just busted up a LOT of rocks and then just started supergluing and instant setting them on!

Altogether it wasn’t too difficult just time consuming! I want it to eventually be covered in rock nems or either LPS. But at this very moment it’s pretty mixed with just overflow from my main tank lol.

I’ll get pics of it now tomorrow!

I bet it was a little nerve-wracking at first, to silicone all of that on there. After all if it goes bad, you're low on corrective actions lol. That is really interesting and unique I appreciate you sharing it, and would love to see it lit up!

I did a 25% water change on the tank today. The tank gets this biweekly. That has been my practice every since my cycle was complete. It is easy for me to see why some folks take a different route and dont perform them. In my eyes, this tank never looks better than it does 12 hours after a water change. I feel like it's a new tide rolling in to refresh everything in this little glass box.

...new water, new life

My scooter blenny made an appearance! Also, the GSP rock is trying to pretend it's a plate so.it doesn't get replaced with a plate...
