My Boys Have Lost It!

Here’s a typical type of discussion my boys like to have ( in advance! Boys!):

Them: Mom, you need to make the house an aquarium.

Me: What do you mean? We have three tanks and might add the fourth next month.

Them: That’s exactly what we mean. When you get the fourth set up and you have so many of these cool things in them, then we can have an aquarium house.

Me: (Clearly still not on the same page as them). We already have three going on four aquariums in the house!

Then: (Clearly frustrated with me). No, mom, we mean an actual aquarium where people can walk through and I where we can charge admission and give tours and stuff! That would be so cool and we would be rich!

In a way, this reminds me of the problem when learning to juggle. You go off and spend all your time learning to juggle three balls, and then show a friend what you can do. Almost immediately they ask, "Can you juggle four?" So you go off and spend more time learning to juggle four balls, come back and show them, and they immediately ask you, "Can you juggle five?"

I sounds like your boys will always want to see you start 'another' fish tank.
