My story in Reefing is long, and I'm sure many of you have dealt with things like this. I did a used 125 system (all livestock, sand, rock, etc.)
I spent 1.5 years cleaning the tank of massive hair algae and finally pulled my last tuft of algae as the tank matured. Then, my townhome burned down and I lost everything. I restarted with a 220 in a twin home and had that operational for 2 years. Sold it because I was building a new single family home and built the basement to have a larger display in wall in the basement. My custom display is from CustomAquariums.com. IT's 6 foot long, 3 foot wide, and 31" tall on a powder coated steel stand and using their H20 Overflow system.

Filtration
25 micron Nuclear Canister filter
No Filter socks so using the canister filter to polish water
L4 Turbo Aquatics algae turf scrubber
DC Diablo Skimmer
3 x MP40s
2 Skimz S18 Powerheads
25 Watt UV Sterilizer
1 Hammerhead external return pump

Lights
Aquatic life T5ho 4 bulb fixture
3 AI Hydra 52 LED fixtures mounted front to back between each of the braces

Mixing Station
2 x 75 gallon drums plumbed.
Freshwater in one and salt water in the other.
Plumbed with a Hammerhead external pump (same as my return pump for redundancy)
I had horizontal cabinet doors placed at the top of the wall to allow for feeding from the front of the tank. The rear of the display is in the fish room. The 75 gallon sump is in the furnace room about 10 feet from the display.

Misc:
Apex Classic monitoring ph and temp
2 Finnex 300 watt heaters
Genesis Reef Systems Renew - Auto top off and Fresh water top off bin monitoring.
Bubble Magus Doser - dosing alk and Calcium

Livestock:
Coral:
A mix of LPS, SPS, and Softies. My softies and SPS are growing the fastest. LPS is alive and not dieing but not growing fast - Acans, Hammers, Elegance, etc.

Current Fish Stocking:
Black Tang (close to 8" in size)
Chocolate Tang
Caribean Blue tang (almost as big as the Black)
Dragon Wrasse
2 Orange and White Oscelleris clowns
Canary Blenny
Starry Blenny
Lawnmower Blenny
Copperband Butterfly (Eats frozen food out of my hand and destroyed my Aiptasia population).
2 Pistol Shrimp and a matched Goby
Royal Grama
Blue Throat Trigger
1 x Pyramid Butterfly fish
Bellas Angelfish
Lamrack's Angelfish

The pics are below. I'll need to get some updated ones. The algae is much more under control, the Aiptasia is gone, and the corals and fish are much larger. :)

It's been a journey!

I'm looking to redo my sump and plumbing and add in a roller mat this fall. My plumbing in the fish room was done by me and with excessive plumbing and I need more room in my sump to do stuff. When I did it all I placed the sump under a table, which limited me to putting stuff in one chamber vs. using all 3 chambers.

I also am planning to update my flow with two more Gyre XF 280s and a Hydros Wave Engine to control my other two xf 350s. This should complete my build, it's only taking me a year or two to get there. :)

I just ordered a 32 frag magnetic frag rack from BRS. I have the 8 frag rack that is working great for me. Has friction holders so my dragon wrasse can't drag frags out of the frag rack and toss them around. He hasn't moved a single frag in the current rack. I plan on do much more fragging of the corals I have. I should easily be able to have 20-30 frags total healed and ready for other fellow reefers.

Many of the corals are acros that are doing well in my tank therefore should be easy for other fellow reefers. They've grown in water that has phosphates anywhere from .1 to .2 ppm. As I build out my fragging system in my primary display, how do I find fellow reefers that would be interested in trading or purchasing corals? I don't know if I want to try my hand at shipping corals. I know others do it, but, the cost for shipping supplies and overnight shipping seems prohibitive. And more afraid I would screw up something.

Aiptasia's gone. Thousands eliminated... I saw him picking at an asterina starfish. He may be going after them next.. :) I'm o.k. with that.

CBB I realized is going on 2 years in my tank this December. Still eats out of my hands everyday. Thanks on the tang. That yellow tang was from a friends tank. I've had him 2-3 years and my friend had him another 2 or 3. My black long nose tang is my oldest fish at 7 years old.

Updated full tank shots. If anyone in ND is interested in any corals I have many of them are fraggable or have been fragged. :)
