    Hey Everyone,

Just stepping into the hobby for the first time after many years of wanting to and a couple years of fresh water experience. And after reading into all the many many tank manufacturers my heart was set on a RSM. Given the fact that my girlfriend and I rent I decided the C-130 series was the best choice for me. A couple months ago we happened across a C-130 at a discount because of a tiny blemish that you can't even see when the tank is full of water(only way we found it in the store is because it was circled with yellow crayon). But $400 discount so I'm not complaining, SOLD! So we brought it home, set it up, checked for leaks and we are good to go!

Not long after bringing the tank home, ordered the all important RO/DI filter, given that we rent I had a bit of a hard time figuring out a good way to store it when not in use and after much debate came up with the idea of hiding it in a over the toilet cabinet. Trip to lowes and managed to find another steal of a deal. Assembled and with some frustrating measuring and re measuringo_O for the holes to mount the actual filters got everything set up and running great:). It is a 90GPD system which should be plenty for my set up, although I will be purchasing a second RO membrane to up the efficiency and cut the waste in half. I'm a firm believer in conservation wherever practical and $75 to double my usable water output and cut waste in half is a very small price to pay in my opinion for all the benefits it does provide.

As of Friday officially on Jeff's build list for January!!!! Definitely going all out here but spent a couple hours talking with Jeff from Lifereef and hammered out what I was really looking for. Excellent service and as of this point in the process definitely recommend Jeff for any custom work you're looking into getting done, sent emails to 10 different custom manufacturers and Jeff was the only one who responded. I can't wait to receive my very own custom project from Lifereef, seen some very impressive samples of his work on R2R and that really helped me pull the trigger on it.

That's probably the most unique location I've ever seen for an RODI system. Kudos on keeping it hidden and well-placed!

Thanks, Like I said we rent for now so being on the upper floor makes things kindof tricky, especially with something you really don't want to be taking apart and storing every time you need it. Best spot I could think of and it really didn't cost much more. Plus it gave us a little extra storage than we had before (how I sold it to the girlfriend) lol

still in holding, can't decide if it's worth cycling without the sump and adding it later on or not o_O

Cycle away! Sump will only make it easier later by adding more water volume and more filtration options. But might as well get started on cycle and deal with any algae blooms

Just had the back of the tank drilled for the overflow to the sump, one step closer to being up and running. Next step, plumbing ! !

So the sump is now in the process of being built, I've had the dry rock sitting for some time now after the move and have finally gotten around to some tinkering with the layout and for now this is what I have come up with so far, any thoughts or tips??

I think I've settled on this, approximately 38 pounds of dry rock which leaves 2 pounds for the sump
