So I recently purchased a 90 gallon reef setup secondhand, with a bunch of goodies. Just was looking for some insight and making sure I’m doing this right ?? What would you add/change about this sump ??

It seems like with the way this is set up, most of the filter pad doesn’t get used or I have to flip it around to use the other side that isn’t catching debris. Is this normal ? Doesn’t seem to last long at all compared to my old tank. Water has been cloudy recently.

Also would a filter sock holder work for this drain? The guy i got it from said I couldn’t really use one for this setup and it got me confused

I don;t think a sock will work without changes.. You could use a rollermat if you wanted.
Do you mean just slight changes to the plumbing or big changes ?

I don’t mind the idea of a rollermat , kinda sounds like a good idea. But filter socks seem cheaper lol
