Hello all,

I am brand new to the hobby and just bought my first tank finally!! I was able to score a great deal on a new Waterbox Reef 70.2 tank and stand set up. Looking forward to sharing my progress as I build and all the advice y’all can give me along the way. I plan on making this a mix reef tank with mostly lps. Some soft and possible SPS
Right now I have the following equipment set up to use.

Tank: Waterbox reef 70.2
Heater: Aquatop 400 watt titanium heater
Return pump: current USA eflux 6010 pump
Skimmer: Dalua great white GW-5
ATO: tunze osomolator 3155
Power heads: two AI Nero 3
Light: either AI hydra 32 or radion xr15

Anything thing else I’m forgetting please remind me I think this is everything to get started?.?.

The Marco rock finally showed up and I’m realizing that I need to run to the LFS and grab a few more to add a little more height to it. Let me know what y’all think of the aqua scale try number 1. I do plan to fill in the gap on the left side once I get more rock this week.

Looks real nice keep up the build

Thanks I’m still working with the aquascape at the moment. Trying to keep it 2 inches off the glass so I can get a python suction tube in to clean the sand

Great looking tank for your first! The rock work is “shaping up” nicely.

I’ll be adding (2) Nero 3’s on new Nuvo 40EXT also once they get back in stock. I’ve always used MP10/40’s in the past so I’m excited to try something different for literally half the price.

Thanks yeah still playing around with the rock work right now. Also I decided to do the Nero 3’s because the tanks glass is half an inch thick and you have some degree of swivel too. I was told the mp10’s wouldn’t hold on a tank that thick. Did you ever have any issues with that?

I think we have found the right look for the aquascape. Wanted to go with a cove look to it with a few overhangs and a table top for acro sticks. It’s off the glass 2 inches or more all around for cleaning sand later. What are everyone’s thoughts?

I really like this tank from water box. The inside dimensions are 22 3/4x22 3/4x 21 so it’s a little smaller inside dimensions then they advertise but still a great tank over all. I’m working on building a separate cabinet for all the controllers next for it.

Any update always happy following another 70.2 reefer. Love the setup you have, what skimmer did you go with? Is it wet yet?
I ended up going with a dahlua great white
gw-5 skimmer fits great in the tank and works like a champ plus it’s super quiet too

Here is the new set up I changed up the scape design before gluing it all together to set up more coves and overhangs went for more of a small cove style look. So far I have 2 davinci clown fish, 2 cardinals, royal gramma, cleaner shrimp, emerald crab, and about 15-18 snails.
