Ive gotten back in to the game and started with the Fluval 32 Flex Salt water tank. This is about 6months into it though I’ve had it going now a little over a year. I’m just catching up on my own tank thread:)

At about a year I replaced the media baskets with the InTank Media baskets and they have significantly helped. Link below. I also added 2 nano 240 hydro power heads to the back bulkhead, although i done think they are enough to push the water around.

Some stock items i think need replacing are the:

-return pump, i think a 250 gph would help with along with the intank media basket to creat enough push and pull for filtering.
-the return adjustable output nozzle. A longer attachment would allow for a better angle for surface agitation (if you have power heads)

I used the sicce syncra silent 1.5 and updated the return nozzles with a pair of random flow generator ones
Great info. The 1.5 is the one i have in my basket right now. Doe you know if the return nozzle is a 3/4 inch or a 1 inch by chance? Do you notice more suction at the top in your filtration chamber with the new pump?

Stock return is 1/2", and yes.... Although switching to the Intank media baskets helps with that also since that bypasses the bottom intake and forces everything to flow through the top which helps with increased surface skimming

Right, i just imagined the new pump pushing more water would increase it even more. I have all fish and no coral so i need as much filtration as possible. About to replace my hydor 240’s as well to get a better flow through out the tank. They’re a tad to small and the flow dies out before it gets to the center of it. Thanks for the info!

New return pump put in today. Hopefully it will increase the intake of filtration...thats the idea anyway. Went with the Syncra silent 1.5 (358 gph)
