So I have been in the hobby for almost a year now. Talked the wife into letting me get a second tank and finally decided on the jbj 30. I've learned most of what I know from the forum so I thought I would share my experience. Will post a sort of timeline to date and then I'll add to it.

Equipment list

JBJ rl30

Custom Stand

2 Hydor Nano 425 powerheads

FishNeedIt T5 4 bulb light fixture

Tunze Nano ATO

Hydor Slim Skim Nano

I had the rock lying around. A friend of mine had torn down his tank and sent them my way.

Two days later I had the water mixed and got my sand.

Finally cleared up and got the cycle started.

I upgraded the return pumps to Hydor Centrifugal 300gph pumps and upgraded lights to an AI Nano.

I had used water from my established 40b to help kickstart the cycle. After two weeks I had had my diatom bloom and began seeing hair algae growth. So I picked up a few snails and hermits. And I decided to pick up a pair of clowns.

I'll try a get a pick of them to post in the morning. I hope to add some easy corals in the next couple of weeks.

Acan star polyps toadstool and zoa frag added to the tank! Just the beginnings. We all know one coral leads to 20. Lol

Added six more to the tank this morning. 4 Zoas 2 plays and a rhodactus shroom. Will take some pictures once they all get settled in and open up.
