My mixed reef dream tank

Found about eight spawns form my yellow tubastrea coral! My love for nps corals is slowly growing. Tomorrow I should receive my shipment with two new gorgonians.

Well, pretty sure I’ve received my strangest shipment of coral so far. I ordered two gorgonians, a sea fan and a purple ribbon.

The sea fan I received is very beautifull and a lot bigger than I expected.
The purple ribbon on the otherhand is horrible. It’s a very small piece and has completely lost it’s colour. Luckily I see some polyps comming out, so hopefully it survives and colours back up. I’ve contacted the seller, and there is no mixe up off some sort…

It’s been a while since my post. A lot has happend! Our first child was born!
Tank has been running on autopilot, but recently I was able to put some work in.

Reorganized my sump, and gave myself an upgrade. I replaced the filtercup holders with a reefmat 500. Love how easy the reefmat works. Also did some cable management while I was down in the sump.

Lastly I finally received the ABC reagents for the trident. UPS messed up the shipping and my order had been traveling through the United States for 4 weeks, to end up in the same city where it was posted….

Just love this chalice, although growth has been slow.

Tank is still doing great. As of last November I switched from Triton to Modern Reef. Wasn’t too happy with Triton anymore. Over the last few months I’ve started to see subtle little differences. Kh consumption increased by about 10%, but more importantly to me, I saw an improvement in coral colouration.
Also polyp expansion on the sps/acropora’s have increased significantly.

Thank you! I find it so hard to get a good full tank picture.
I love the coral colours under the blue’s, but at the same time the tank looks empty because most of the LPS are only 75% extended under just the leds. During the daylight when the T5’s are on the tank looks proper full

At this point we are 3 weeks in, and the dendronepthya looks more expanded than ever. Sadly my flame angel started picking at the dendronepthya. After having a taste of the dendronepthya, my ventalina gorgonian was it’s next target. I therefore decided to rehome the flame angel. The rehoming seems to be too late for the gorgonian, as it is now covered in a layer of slime algae.

I did however pick up a very beautifull pair of pintail fairy wrasse today. Not the best picture, but it reflects the colour of the mail quite well.
