Was able to get some rearranging done.
Accidentally tore my SK in half;) Hopefully it heals up nice and makes an extra baby. If not I have another.
The Golden Gonzos are super hardy fast grower and multipliers im sure ill have several discs full of them in a few months:)
Everything's kinda mad.
Tomorrow is water change day. After that im forgetting about them for awhile.

I’ve got my eye on a gonzo or two, treat em right!!
For sure things are pretty stabile and dialed at this point and they are all really taking off. They seems to want to split around quarter size or a little bigger and doesn't take long for them to split again after they heal.

Just as I suspected. Shrooms are already settled back into frag rack life.
Minecraft already starting to walk around. Pretty sure there's a little baby on the backside. Anyhow gonna need to get off my butt and get the rest of them on discs:)

Also going to play around with some fragging. I have a theory if I take a blade and cut the feet where the feet are starting to stretch from walking around. That they will turn into little babies.
Idk but that's what I'm thinking just gonna have to see:)

Wife found an extra bonus baby mushroom on the neptune plug.

Minecraft is digging the disc move. She's been footed on a tiny Astrea shell ever since i got her. She's probably been wanting to spread her feet for awhile:)

Can't believe how much of a difference a proper stabile nutrient schedule along with lighting can make. This guy is crazy cool. Always see something different in it and is really starting to take off and do its thing.

Same with these. Whatever they are:)

Time for that water change ive been putting off. Not sure why but my skimmers went totally wonky on me last night.
Could it be the thai shrimp soup the wife made last night?
No other reason I can think of but changing water to be safe:)

Water changes are fun lol I did one on sunday, actually. The first one on the history of the tank! I actually mixed the same amount of water as you're making too, 15 gallons. AND I did it in the same bucket! Such a small world, eh?

Haha yeah I've actually gone a month or 2. Idk maybe I'm crazy but I just feel like they respond positively to water changes. Plus I have the new discs acclimating in the sump and my wife probably feeds the puffer 5 x a day haha. Seen the reed roids out yesterday as well. Not really sure what she doing in reef room half the time lol
Need to figure out a way to clean sumps. I should've elevated them a little for positive drainage but I didn't think it that far setting this up. My go with shop vac option or try rigging up one of my pumps I have sitting around. Nitrates are pretty solid between 10-15. Just getting alot of silt sitting in bottom of them. And all that food she's feeding puffer has to be going somewhere lol

I use a maxi jet and one of those vacuum attachments made by VCA to clean my sump, it actually works really well. I have a 5 micron filter sock and just siphon back into the tank.

Got a cool picture of our porcupine puffer.
Hes still getting over being stuck to the return pump but starting to act like himself again.
He can spit right out of the sump onto the floor. And he will to get your attention haha.
Always excited agging his fins and tail when he gets attention lol

Interesting observation today.
Green JB has been sitting down nicely but all of the sudden is standing up a bit since i fed it the other day.
Meanwhile Electus didn't look so hot next day but is really filling out and plump. Probably 3x its size since i got it.

Feels like marbling is getting heavier in Green jawbreaker. Not sure if its nutrients or lighting or tweaking the light schedule or all of the above. But for sure seeing positive results.
Need to get a seneye to see how close my schedule is to brs reccomended settings on spectrum side.

I see that as well! It looks super fine, like a paint spray or something. Personally? I like JB's with bigger streaks and spots as opposed to super fine spotted ones. But it works well with the green color.
Also, a hint as to what I got at the show today!
The hint: Something in your collection with the word Dragon in the name.
I'm very excited, I've made some contacts after this show where I can start fleshing out my shroom collection a whole lot more!

Yessir. The speckles. Im going from what I'm seeing now as to never seeing that in a JB. Although I'm sure they will turn into something later. I havent seen anything like the green jb ever so nothing to compare it to. But if i had to imagine the offspring would be like pizza and should colored electus but I'm not sure if its even been done before.

Morning SPAM and question...

Picked this up for $20 and wanted to know if you've seen one like it and if it has a name, its starting to "bounce" or form tumors lol?

It looks like a generic Indonesian mariculture piece to me, nothing too special and the price makes sense if that is the case. Now with bounces, they aren't tumors! My theory is that they are a defense mechanism against UV lighting, equivalent to a person putting on sunglasses. They block intense light from hitting the oral disc, thus protecting from damage. I may be wrong but so far that's what I've seen.

"tumor" is any abnormal growth of body tissue so what ever its doing its growing its skin abnormally;)

Is it cancer, no lol

Hi @MERKEY thats a pretty cool one whatever it is has alot of potential.
I'll be honest I'm not really sure what makes a bounce produce bubbles.
My wife follows a Vietnamese diver/wholesaler and from what I can tell the regularly dive and pull shrooms from the ocean with bouncing bubbles. As seen in there holding tank pictures. So idk if it is a genetic defense mechanism built in to help shade them from intense light. If intense light causes it or if its just genetic and what it is naturally and we are providing proper parameters to help them along or if its all of the above but I think its cool whatever it is.
@Mr_Knightley. The reason i say this is because once I stabilized my water parameters. My no name Jersey morph did start bouncing for me. Under the old Chinese black box at super low intensity. But ad to your theory it did really start blowing up with huge growth explosion/color bubbles when i hit it with higher intensity and brs reccomended settings for softies which is high on blue side.
And I am for sure seeing positive results bumping up my violet channel. As well as cool blue with it.
I need a seneye to see how close I am to brs spectrum on the graph. I am running my light much higher off surface to get proper coverage. And I'm in much shallower water. So I may very well be under or over spectrum but I'd really like to know now.
I cam say there's nothing sitting under anything over 125 par right now. And my shrooms are responding positively to higher intensity just like it more on a violet balanced side.
