Guys. I felt like crying when I opened the package. It’s so beautiful oh my god. I can’t express how beautiful this skimmer is.

It’s a super reef octopus 250-INT.

It has a controller that allows me to adjust skimmer level... plus a valve which also lets me adjust the skimmer level.

What difference is there if I put the pump on low speed and adjust skimmer manually vs putting pump on high speed vs adjusting the skimmer manually?
Does one configuration make wet and one dry?

Until I get some responses I set the pump on the middle level and adjusted the skimmer manually. I *think* it will be balanced until I get more information. It’s not running crazy which is awesome!!!

I don't have that type so I can't comment on adjustment. However wet vs dry is how the skimmate comes out. Once broken in the type of bubbles that overflow into the cup could be a lot or just enough. Dry would be the latter and you end up with a darker skimmate

Keep an eye on it for the next couple weeks. It takes a while to break itself in.

I don't have one that uses a DC pump either, but I believe the theory is that you use the controller to adjust how much air it is pulling in then then adjust the water level with the valve on the skimmer.

I can only control the water level in mine. I have the fine bubbles to where my finger is. Higher you go the wetter. I would consider mine dry.

I have the same skimmer. I run the pump on full and adjust the valve. It does take a little bit for it to break in. Small (like really small) adjustments to the valve can make a big difference. So start wide open and slowly close the valve to get the skim you want. Make really small changes at a time, let it settle in for a day before adjusting it again.

Did I mention to make only small adjustments? ;)
