My plan for stocking a 32 gallon biocube

I have a 32 gallon biocube. After doing some research and looking at the Live Aquaria compatibility chart, below are the fish I am thinking about getting and the order I plan to add them. Let me know your thoughts or feel free to share any suggestions you have for the type of fish or the order to add them. Thanks!

1. Goby/Shrimp Pair (Yasha or YWG)
2. Two Banggai Cardinal
3. Blenny
4. Pygmy Wrasse or a Chromis
5. Ocellaris Clownfish

Welcome to the forum! What kind of blenny? Something small like a tailspot would be good but I’d be hesitant for some of the larger algae blennies (they can get aggressive and need grazing room).
Personally I’d pass on the chromis - they are a small fish but I don’t think a 2 foot tank gives them enough active swimming room.

I had not settled on the exact type of blenny. Tailspot was definitely one that was at the top of consideration. Since you suggest eliminating the Chromis, would you do the wrasse, another fish, or just eliminate that fish altogether and just do 5 total instead of 6?

My biocube 32 has:
Occy pair
6-line wrasse
Ruby red dragonet
High fin red banded goby

It’s a good mix so far, there was some aggression between the clowns and wrasse at first but it’s calmed down over time.
I think that 6 may be a bit much, but it depends on the size and behavior of the fish. So long as you wind up with a mellow clown I don’t think your 6 fish proposal is a terrible one.
If you were to cut something I would cut the clown or wrasse though.

Thanks for the input. I know all fish are different and can’t fully predict. Just taking my time and trying to make it a fun, peaceful tank! I’ll probably eliminate the wrasse/Chromis and just have five.

I have a 32 gallon tank that is over 8 years old. Currently empty, was thinking of two clowns, hawk fish, and royal gramma? Can I add all at once?

Skip the Chromis and the Clownfish. Think about some type of fire fish. For pygmy wrasse think about pink streaked wrasse or possum wrasse. Yellow clown goby or neon blue cleaner gobies are both great tiny fish.

In my experience, the cube is a weird format. It stacks the fish up on top of each other. Vertical swimming space is harder to share than horizontal swimming space.

A little late to the thread. I've had a Biocube 32 for 5 years now. In my experience, anything more than 4 fish with any type of aggressive tendencies, or any type of size, would feel crammed. Right now I have an Ocellaris (since startup), Flame Hawk, and a tailspot blenny. I just lost my possum wrasse 2 weeks ago. Those 4 were together 3 years and were perfectly happy.

I've also had a clown goby, purple firefish, pygmy angel, and court jester goby. They all worked out OK.
