Considering how cheaply made my current el cheapo circulation pumps are; they’ve lasted a long time. The glass rods holding the impellers straight are broken.

They are running but they aren’t going to last much longer. At most I have until January I suspect. I am going to spend much more than I did before but I still have to stay budget minded. As such I’ve been looking at the Jebao SCP-120.

I have mainly soft corals right now but I am getting into LPS. Ultimately however I want to have montiporas and acroporas. I have a 30” x 30” x 25” 90 gallon cube. I’m posting a link to the models and flow rates in the SCP line. Please let me know which one will be best in my situation. Thank you.

Everyone gives jebao a lot of crap, but I'm having good experience so far with running a scp120m (wifi version) vertically in my 4' 120g. I tried the scp 150, it's sand blowing speed, so I replaced it with what I currently have. It just runs on random mode with the lights and goes to 40% constant speed during lights out. I also have a scp 70 on my 50g running with good success. I'm considering another scp120m for the 120g just to be able to change flow bi directionally.

P.S. I utterly hated gyres... I came around.

I'm also running their wifi return pump with good success, but I've been using jebao pumps since 2015 ish.

Your tank looks great! I can’t imagine me needing more than the 150 but I do want to be stony coral dominant. I want to have and be SPS dominant eventually. If nothing else montis and acros.

I have a jebao 20k that’s been running for 3 years never even cleaned it and goes like it brand new.

I might also end up getting a second one for cross flow but I want to see how well just 1 would work.

I have vortechs and some jebao power heads and a DC return pump. I won't be replacing the vortechs if they fail. I love them but they are just too overpriced. I started the hobby with hydor karalias but got tired of getting shocked everytime I stuck my hand in the tank. It seems like they all started leaking electric at some point.

Yeah I really like the idea of DC equipment. AC equipment induces a current in the water. Especially pumps. Other AC equipment also induces various currents.

I paid $24 altogether for both pumps I have now. For the same pumps I’d have to pay something like $75 so I could have them with a magnetic mount. I’ll just spend the extra $50 and get a much better product. Plus they’re compatible with apex (with an adapter). I intend to get an apex but that’s not happening until summer at the earliest.

I love jebao pumps. I have a cube the same exact size as you. I generally like a lot of flow in my tanks and started with the scp-120 and I had a horrible time getting good flow throughout the tank without just blowing water out in some areas. Part of it was my rockwork which was basically a tall island in the center. I made it work but was never happy with it. Temporarily have the tank taken down, but when it goes back up I plan to try two scp-70s or maybe a single scp-70 and one or two sow-8.
