Some of my of my palys are shrinking, closing up, loosing their skirts. After a few days, my rainbows have gone from this..

To this...

I ended up pulling the rock and breaking off this part, so I could dip them. This was all that came off...

Asked around and nobody what they were. I didn’t want to take any chances so I dipped my Purple Hearts, Gobstoppers, Tiger Eyes and Fire&Ice too. They were on the same rock. A couple more of these critters came off, but nothing drastic. I dipped them several times over the next couple weeks. After the last dip, I followed with an iodine dip. In the end, I lost everything, but the Purple Hearts. It was after this that I was introduced to vermetid snails and spionid worms. Looking back, I think these were the problem. They are currently causing havoc with my razzle dazzles and suck ups. I’m more worried about the spionid worms. I know some people will disagree with wanting them out of my tank, but I don’t want to lose anymore of my zoas/palys Unfortunately, I can’t figure out how to get rid of them.

I was interrupted by a power failure while working on this post..Ugh..it will be the only one tonite.

Back to September 2019

Been dealing with family health issues and haven’t been paying as much attention to the tank as I should. I notice that even though they are growing, some of my zoas/palys are fading, my torch is literally turning white and some of my sps are loosing tissue..

At the time, I had a skimmer, UV sterilizer & refugium running 24/7 and wasn’t being consistent with coral feedings. Also, I was depending too much on my Apex DOS/DDR. I had a major (to me) Alk swing from 8 to 6.7, Ca from 430 to 420. Nitrates and phosphates were 0. My nitrates are usually 10-20. I think it was just a perfect storm of things gone wrong. Deciding to have a Reef tank comes with big responsibilities. These are living things being kept in glass boxes instead of the great big ocean. It was another lesson learned. I lost my JF Fox Flame. My torch was weakened so much, It eneded up infected (not sure with what) and lost all but 2 polyps. The 2 polyps we’re still struggling until @Magellan told me about AquaVitro Fuel that had a trace element (Manganese) that euphyllia love. I started adding it twice a week and they finally look healthy. I’m trying to bring my RC Rainbow acro back. I fragged the healthy pieces. I have about 4 frags left and only two of the four look to be growing. My Reverse Rainbow stylo and Space Invader Pectina survived with no ill effects. The zoas and palys are growing like weeds but I’m still struggling with getting their color back

Things have been going well, then I woke up to find one of my Picasso’s on the floor. It doesn’t matter ether it has four legs or fins, it breaks my heart. I had already ordered a ClearView Pisces Lid to replace my RS diy screen top, knowing I wanted some known jumpers in the future. Unfortunately, it was a minimum 70 day turnaround time. I’ve never thought of a clown jumping. My black ice snowflakes never ventured near the top of the tank. Sadly, this was the first of two clowns to jump...

Wow awesome story/build thread, regarding the clowns jumping, did you introduced something to the tank that may have stressed them?.

Regarding tinnitus, I suffer chronical tinnitus since 2016 due to a heavy ear infection, I had a mild one it since young age consequence of being a professional swimmer in my 10s and 20s. But with the ear infection exploded, look like there is nothing to do to fix it at the beginning I thought that I will go nuts, but our brains are awesome and in a few months it started to filter the ring, now few years later during the day I don't hear it anymore, when I get to bed I usually hear some dim ring, and only when I am really stressed I come back full.
