Hi all so I've been put of the hobby for quiet some time and now decided to jump back in head first. My last tank was 40 gallons 9 years ago. Yikes! So last summer I purchased a 180 gallon AGA tank. 72x24x24 standard 180. I purchased this with a homemade stand and black box led's. The past weeks I have been deciding on equipment there is a few things I have not decided on so I will look for some help from the community. My girlfriend has been a huge help with DIY projects and is super into fish and coral so this is a joint project and out daughter wants to one day be a marine biologist so she may jump in as well.

Equipment that has been decided on
Apex 2016
Apex ATK
Sump from Oceans By Design in Bellingham Washington.
Black box led's

Still to decide
Return pump
Refugium light
Reactors
Plumbing
Rock
Sand
Flow

Hope you all follow along and enjoy the journey.. that's half the fun RIGH T! I look forward to sharing and advice and critique from the community.

Here is the tank it is sitting in its final place against the wall in the living room. We took the doors off as we want to replace them.

All the animals are inquisitive and that is currently their favorite place to lay while the doors are off

So I finally got the lights hung, I did this DIY two runs to home depot later and here is what I was left with. I used 2 18 inch shelf brackets some plastic coated cable, clamps. Cord management to come. Has anyone ever used the black boxes powered in sequence?
