My urchin died and all of my corals are closed up

Um I would and run a double dose of pureit from brightwell

Ime they decompose quickly. That would produce some ammonia and hydrogen sulphide. Those are not good. Just make sure you remove the dead urchin and prepare for a slight rise in nitrate.

Removed urchin and did a 30% water change and changed carbon. Haven't tested for ammonia in years.

FWIW, a 30% water change isn't as useful as something to deal with ammonia.
