I have read a number of postings regarding the mystery wrasse and the potential to change from a good citizen to demon, terrorizing everything in site. My question is, does introducing this fish at or near last make a difference and what factor does aquarium size play in their incompatablity. I currently have a 650 gallon tank (108"x36"x36"). I keep (14) tangs, (3) swallowtail angels, assorted fairy wrasses (7 kinds), halichoeres wrasses (2), small tuskfish, red breasted wrasses, comet, pyramid butterfly and engineer gobies. The mystery wrasses would be an interesting and beautiful addition, but not if he's likely to wreak havoc on my current community.

In that sort of tank you should be good. It’s usually in smaller tanks with peaceful tank mates that they become assassins.

Same genus as 6 line so it certainly has an attitude. Think of it as a more desirable and rare 6 line.

Thank you for the feedback. I’ll keep him in isolation until all other wrasses have been added.
