Picked up this used Nano-Cube 28g tank and stand last night during our local fish store's second meeting of the newly formed local reef club meet meeting. It's currently in my back yard full of water and vinegar to clean it, hoping to upgrade my fluval evo 13 either tonight or tomorrow depending how cleaning goes. Main question is new sand or use the old 6 month old sand?

All sand it’s always a big trouble, you will mess up all the bacteria and you’ll have a huge peak of ammonia, if you’re not putting fish immediately, you can do it, but you may have a bunch of algae in the cycling period unless you keep the lights off in this period.

Since I already have a bag of new sand, that’s what I am gonna do, don’t need to create more unnecessary problems
Good idea using new sand!

Transferred half my rocks and the few fairly inexpensive frags since the water cleared up since filling last night, and finally the micro bubbles are stopping coming out of the pumps. Forgot about those d**n things…. Oopsies
