Hello all - I am looking for recommendations for a In Sump Protein Skimmer for my nano tank that I can use with my sump on a Marine X 35.1? It seems like many nano tanks are the AIO and or do not have a sump so I am having a hard time finding suggestions. Hoping posting here might more helpful.

The Cadlights PLS-50 Elite V. 2 is the best small skimmer out there right now and it’s on sale for $169 with free shipping from ModeAquarium. I’ve got it running on my 30. gallon. It hangs on the wall, but you can hang it on your sump wall and will be good.

Never heard of this one but worth a look. How hard was it to dial in?

Couldn’t be easier. twist the skimmer body to raise the water level. I ran it when’re the cylinder meets the cone for a while. Ive now adjusted up to where the cone meets the neck. I’m going to run it like this for a few days and see which I like.
there was no break in period for it. Started pulling gunk after the first few hours. the pump is about three times the size of the IM Midsize and pulls about that much air as well.

I have the Eshopps nano skimmer and although it takes time to fine tune, it works great for my Cube 20 gallon after a month of use. With anything, it takes time to dial it in. I recommend for a back sump if you don't have a separate sump. Goodluck!
