Need Advice - New Floors

Quick background... 90 gallon tank, 40 gallon sump. Sump wont be an issue draining, removing filtration and moving. Problem is with tank itself. My guess is I have roughly 65-70 gallons of water plus maybe 80-100 pounds of rock. I can drain 30-40 gallons but no way I can take rock out. Estimate weight would be tank 160 +rock 100+40 gallons @ 8 pounds 320 grand total of 580 lets even call it 600/650. My questions.... Easiest way to move it so i can redo the floors underneath? Can i just slide it over to a holding area or would it put too much stress on the tank ? Any ideas? im sure im not the first to redo floors with a tank in the way. Thanks in advance.

Not an easy feat. Especially if youre doing baseboard too. That thing will be in the way no matter how you swing it.
Current flooring has to be demod, prepped and possibly leveled if doing a click lock floor like the luxury vinyl planks.

I would relocate into a few rubbermaid tubs, buy some cheap cobalt pumps and air stones.

Hey....this is an excuse to revamp your reef! Use it!!!!

Buckets was an option i thought of at first. To answer other question, yes i am doing vinyl planks over existing Pergo. Vinyl has the underlay attached, floors are already level. Still a big project but needs to be done. Floors are going on 13 years and house needs a refresh. The idea of some major tank revamp is an added bonus.

I see. So youll be laying wall to wall vinyl planks and finishing with quarter round most likely.
I tried to slide my tank and stand on felt coasters across the vinyl when i redid my floor but it was easier to just man handle it.

I still think the rubbermaid totes will still be easiest.

Remove all livestock you can get to, remove rocks, and sand into the totes. Sand seperately so it can be rinsed.

You will likely spend more time trying to figure out a short cut and in the long run youll wish you would have done it differently.

Also an excuse to finish the install quickly.

With a razorblade, a multi tool cutter and an afternoon with a 6 pack i can usually knock out 10x10 room including base.

No 6 pack = 2 days

exactly.. wall to wall with the quarter. i think once drained into buckets i should be able to move to a portion of the floor that allows me to do the portion it sits on. thank you for your help.
