Need advice on adding baffles to the sump

I am planning to add baffles in the sump to separate protein skimmer from refugium. Water from the drain flows under this small baffle which extends around 1" out. Can I leave 1" gap and then start adding the baffles 1" apart? this will leave me around 8" of room for refugium. Please see attached picture. Thanks!

It will be pretty hard gluing three baffles 1" apart IMO.

Yes, I agree. Maybe I'll leave 1.5" gap and try, only thing is that the refugium will end up being 6" or so. I hope that's enough for 55g tank.
