LED DIYers (is that a real thing?) I just picked up a pretty cheap LED fixture for a Coral Holding/Frag tank. It's the Aquamaxx Prism, seems to be a well built clean little unit. Was wondering if I can add lenses to these LEDs, would it help, if so what would I look to buy and how will I attach them. The LEDs are .5 watts, not sure what other info is needed in order to get suggestions. TIA for any guidance you can provide. This will obviously be my first "LED DIY" experience.

Why do you want to add lenses?

Why do you want to add lenses?
I was just thinking most of the better LED lights have lenses which I was guessing spread the light a little more as well as helped with mixing colors of the individual LEDs.

Actually lenses are more of the opposite.. Concentrates light to "punch"deeper and if on individual diodes adds to color separation problems..

In that case I'm probably better off without it. I'm using the light on a small tank that isn't very deep.
