Need fast info on a jbj true temp heater controller

Some one want to trade me some stuff for his heat controlled but I seen he don't have the heater to it and the probe had to be spliced togeather and my heater is in my sump and my 300 watt isn't doing it since I went from mh to leds. Is it worth having in the long run or is it just something to say you have one good or junk. Help asap he wants to try for tomorrow

Id, pass if it were me. Any time you have to splice in to something you can raise the resistance in the flow of currect.

Something doesn't sound right here....

Yea that's the way I was looking at it and he said it didn't hurt it plus I could go get a new wire for $30. Plus only can plug one heater in it at a time so I just added a heater to the one I already has and it seems to be working just fine since my 300 watt wasn't enough to heat my tank to where I wanted it.
