Need help deciding on a tank.

To save money I was thinking about converting my 75 gal softy and lps tank to 75% sps...the tank has 0 LE's or any rare corals...i could change that,lol

But the prob is about 1 week ago the only monti in the tank got monti eating nudibranches?!!?! so i threw the whole colony away, it was like 6 in. across...............anyways, do the nudis die if they dont have a monti to eat?? If i waited 4 months before buying any montis would they all be dead?

I would just dip any monti you get and if you see futher problems,just go dip them again.Sooner or later they will die out.

I thought monti eating nudis were extremly hard to get off even with a dip?

Not really,a good dip will remove them,if they come back,dip again.

Bc i can hold out on montis for 4+ months if i have to

Also would re arranging the rocks cause another mini tank cycle?

Im not sure,Im really not,cause honeslty,I dont know if they even realy on Montipora as a only food source.

It shouldnt,cycles IMO are only caused by new set up tanks who dont have aged rock,or a established filter,I think you will be fine.

Just keep dipping/manually removing, from what I know the nudi's only feed on monti's...

I honestly have no idea, but if I had to guess I would say they can live up to a month without a food source.........
