Ok you mean this. Now I understand.
Not quite. It's something more like this, But obviously much smaller and stainless steel.

Alright need help again
Instead on hanging the canopy I would like to have it on track, this way I could slide the canopy out of my way.

Canopy is 24in wide and I was thinking maybe 15 inches slide. I know I can't get full 24in as canopy might sag a lot.

But is there a way I can slide 15 inches away from tank.

See attached pic.
I would like help regarding fasteners, what kinda slide or tracks?

Attach wood to ceiling studs create a triangle shape if your ceiling is sloped(basically create a flat spot where your track can slide… )use bed slide tracks they hold like hundreds of pounds and slide smooth

My second thoughts are use sliding door tracks and wheels. Not sure how they would attach to the light itself though
I think your slides are better option.
One the can be installed over the flat cieling. Then you just pull it over tank.
When doing maintenance just slide it back to flat part.
Slide will hold 300 lbs. Canopy is not heavy.

I will extend the track half way to tank. This way it's sturdy. So 48 inch track 36in on flat cieling and 12in over tank. Screwd in studs over flat part. Chain or hanging wire suspended 12in
I will need longer inside track. Say 60in. So canopy when over tank will have 48in supported by track. Only 12in will be unsupported.
That should not make canopy sag. What you think?
