I downloaded the Galactica Luxmeter app for the iPhone. Whats the rough Lux to Par measurement for 26k Lux? I figured the Maxspect R420r would have a higher Lux reading at CH1 100% Ch2 100% at 8 inches from the water surface.

divide by 60 IME
26,000/60=433 rate it at a LOWER conversion number when using more light.
Please double and triple check the reading, phones are phones and not really meters, some phones just dont work that well.
a test. go outside on a sunny day. you should have between 80,000 and 100,000 lux unless you live near the equator.

I tested it the day I downloaded it on the sun and got somewhere like 126k - 132k, I can't remember. I'm in North Carolina. My phone is an iPhone 6s. So if it's roughly 430+/- par at the surface it's safe to say it's only double digits on the sand?

its should not be 126,000 lux. its reading the sun directly(like a camera does) not the ambient daylight and sun falling on the meter. try the other setting. i forget what its called.
also tru a( light) thin piece of printer paper over the meter sensor. then point the light at it.
its iffy so id check it. Im totally glad you did check it like that, but I'd have to say its reading is off..

yes probably. like a 2 tube t5 =/- on a 24in deep the really meh. ,...IMO.

Ok so here is the white paper test sitting on the screen top. With the phone right next to the led puck.

38237/59=764.74

And here's the phone sitting on the screen top pointing up at the led puck.

So @saltyfilmfolks in your opinion, would it be safe/wise to try and up my percentages? I run a predominantly sps tank with some zoas and a Duncan and an Acan on the sand. All the sps are located between 3 inches from the bottom to about 4 inches from the top. The one located up at the highest point is a green birdsnest.

fwiw.
3000 lux / 60 = 50 par. so small numbers on the meter rather than % I think is better.
