I downloaded the Galactica Luxmeter app for the iPhone. Whats the rough Lux to Par measurement for 26k Lux? I figured the Maxspect R420r would have a higher Lux reading at CH1 100% Ch2 100% at 8 inches from the water surface.

its should not be 126,000 lux. its reading the sun directly(like a camera does) not the ambient daylight and sun falling on the meter. try the other setting. i forget what its called.I tested it the day I downloaded it on the sun and got somewhere like 126k - 132k, I can't remember. I'm in North Carolina. My phone is an iPhone 6s. So if it's roughly 430+/- par at the surface it's safe to say it's only double digits on the sand?
Its sounds pretty close.Ok so here is the white paper test sitting on the screen top. With the phone right next to the led puck.
38237/59=764.74
And here's the phone sitting on the screen top pointing up at the led puck.
42471/50=849.42
I have the 420r as well.I figured the Maxspect R420r would have a higher Lux reading at CH1 100% Ch2 100% at 8 inches from the water
yes, slow acclimation is key.So @saltyfilmfolks in your opinion, would it be safe/wise to try and up my percentages? I run a predominantly sps tank with some zoas and a Duncan and an Acan on the sand. All the sps are located between 3 inches from the bottom to about 4 inches from the top. The one located up at the highest point is a green birdsnest.
fwiw.Ok I'll continue raising like I have 2% a week til I see some negative reaction then cut it back to the previous weeks setting.
Thanks for your help and advice.
