Need help with hammer coral

Not sure what’s going on, it was doing fine till today, the polyps look like they are shedding and falling of ? Very long black string ? Need some help tryna figure out what’s wrong with them..

I would consider doing an iodine dip in some Lugols, SeaChem Reef Dip, or MediCoral.

How long have you had it? Are those zoa’s right beside it, they don’t look like they are doing well either. Need more info on your tank lighting and flow and parameters

Going on two weeks, they were doing very well till today, and no no zoas, all hammers. I run kessils a360x and flow I’m not sure if they getting to much?

Melting? What could be the cause anyway to save them

If the flesh band is receded and the tentacles are looking limp—- I believe there is a possibility of bacterial infection. The iodine dip is basically a "medicated bath" that would kill pathogens without harming the coral tissue. It’s a preemptive approach.

You really need to invest in, nitrate, phosphate, calcium and magnesium test kits. Salifert are very affordable. Unlike soft corals, hard corals are very dependent on magnesium and calcium for skeletal growth.
