Hey guys,

The start of my second tank has been getting delayed for one reason or the other. But in the meantime, I came across lights not earlier available here....

My vendor is now offering JBL Marine day and Marine Blue T8 lights.

Earlier I was aiming at 8 Redsea T5 ReefSpec lights for this tank (3 x white, 3 x actinic and 2 pink Redsea T5s).

I would like the tank to be SPS dominated.

The tank's dimensions are 60" x 18" x 26". The substrate will be around 5 inches deep on average.

Now I am thinking whether I should do 4 (or 6) Redsea T5s with 4 JBL Marine T8s.

Any suggestions ?

Some have gotten away with using T8s, I wouldn't recommend it. I'd also change out 2 of those whites with 2 Blue + Lamps. Get rid of the Pink lamps and go with 2 Pure Acinics. That should round you out some. You don't need as much white light as you would think. 6 Lamps should be plenty.
