last week I bought an emerald crab that basically attacked my blue hammer after introducing the crab within the 1st hour .

I returned the large male and got a smaller female crab. Ever since than my blue hammer has been ailing. I can see a thin slim around the base where the tissue and skeleton meets.

I did a 25% WC already . Still not happy. Parameters good except high alk. Not sure why the high alk at 10.7 dk. Was 8.5 or so last week.

Ca at 430 Red Sea
Mag 1325 Red Sea
Alk 10.7 Red Sea
Phosphate .07 Hannah checker low range
Nitrate - not tested in a while

Went to the LHS and picked up the Hannah alk checker and got a reading of 7.9. Not sure why I’m getting a high reading of the Red Sea kit. Did 2 tests with Hannah checker and got the same reading.

Going to idione dip the blue hammer and hope it recovers

Used seachem reef dip for 30mins. A few red stringy worms was swirling around. could this be the culprit? It only started going down hill after I introduced the emerald crab that snacked on it.
