Need Help With Toad Stool Coral

The coral has gotten big. When fully inflated about six inches long. I bought it attached to a rock at it's base. I made the mistake of covering the rock with epoxy into a crack of a larger rock. Now I cant get the dang thing out. What would happen if I cut the very bottom of the coral stem from the base rock? If cutting is possible without great harm to the coral, how do I attach it to another base rock. Thanks all.

Cut it with a sharp razor blade then put the frag in a Tupperware container with rubble rock and let it attach on its own takes around 10-14 days typically.
