Need Help...

So my boyfriend and I acquired a 30g BiOrb recently. We are going to have a friend build a custom stand that looks like a gumball machine. Problem is, I believe these BiOrb's are more for freshwater. The filter is in the center disguised w/ dreadful fake freshwater plants:( Does anyone have experience w/ these tanks or have advice/idea's on converting it? I'll be using a full spectrum par 38 led for lighting.

Chop the plants down and for a 30 gallon you don't really need a skimmer so you will be fine but that's just my 2cents

it's difficult to keep clean, especially the glass from algae. it's possible to keep reef, but bit challenging.
