Need the oyster guys help

Just got my hands on a bunch of flat tree oysters from ark, planning on using them for assisted filtration which I've got way more than I need but the extras will cover me at the lfs. So basically right now I'm planning on using a ton of phyto and ordering a ton of copepods to assist with pseudofece removal. They all seem healthy send in keeping them in a breeder box so daily checks can be easily done while also keeping my mantis shrimp at bay should the fella decide to take a swim randomly. Outside of that i planned on running my regular reef schedule, 79 degrees etc. and a wondering if there's anything I left out. I do have a small mangrove growing a per they naturally attach to them.

They are very cool. With that said I have read that clams, and other bi-valves do not add any noticeable or significant filtration to a system. I would be very careful when adding more nutrients to your existing system to provide nutrition for them. First I would simply stir up a little detritus, little being the key word.
Another concern for me would be temperature. Are the bi-valves from a warmer water region?
Lastly, good job in keeping them isolated where you can keep a good eye on them.

They are from a colder region, they'd native to Florida mangroves which was one of my reasons for the choice. Pretty much I didn't really expect them to Ronnie po4 and no3 but more so act to help prevent it from being an issue. As far as adding nutrients directly to the system i was thinking more along the lines of using live phyto seeing that from what I've read would be beneficial so long as I control myself. I'm far from an expert on the subject so any tips are welcomed.

My personal experience with keeping bi-valves housed in an aquarium was for an octopus as a food source. They did fine in a temperate tank, no heater. I did not directly feed them.
I have kept them temporarily in cold systems in California in a small public aquarium with a large volume of water, no direct feeding.
As point of interest because they are unique I can see the keeping them, especially when they are covered in other cool marine creatures.
My take on it though is you are adding them as a supplement to your filtration, but adding more nutrients to the system.

Correct, the reason being that 48 his later between them and my skimmer nutrients dropped dramatically. Possibly due to 10ish large oysters in a 45 gallon. So I'm feeding heavier to counter the overkill until I can get rid of a few. You know a 3 inch oyster doing and releasing everything out stored over the years counters what I'm attempting. I'm working with flat tree oysters from Florida to get around the typical issues but I'm a first timer so looking to pick some brains in order to get a good idea of what could go right and what could go wrong and course of action that should be taken.
