Need to get my Condi out!

Is there a way to get a nem out of a hole? My Condi has buried itself in the middle of my rock and came up through a hole. He's got to go before he kills everything. He's already taken out a monti and a chalice.

Try pointing a powerhead directly at him, hopefully it'll annoy him enough to make him let go,and you can try relocating him.

I spent about 30 minutes with a turkey baster hitting him right in the face. It pulled back, but then came right back out. Now it has no affect.

Temporary won't do a whole lot, you have to get a powerhead and continuously blast him with water, possibly overnight. It can take some time before he decides to move.

It could take a day or two with the powerhead facing it. You can also try using icecubes. I fill a a baggie with ice cubes that are made from RO water and put it against the foot of the anenome. This to will take some time but I would try the powerhead first.

I can't even see his foot. It is buried way in this rock. He's smart and I think he knows I'm after him.

I'll have to see what I can rig up. He's right in the center of the tank and I don't think I can get a power head to hit him.

Lol, yea they have a mind of their own that's why we stopped putting them in our reef. Try the powerhead trick. They hate a lot of flow. Let us know what happens!

Can you remove the rock? It took me nearly an hour using turkey baster, ice cube and gentle massage (once the foot gets started you can gently use massage on the bottom of the foot - key word - gentle!). I held the rock over a bucket of tank water with the tentacles in the water and the foot out.

No way...this rock is all custom, cemented together. Probably weighs about 50 pounds and has a ton of frags on it.

Never again. He was the first nem we ever put in. My BTAs are awesome and mind their own business. This thing is always on the move.

Saw this work on another thread, take a pvc coupling and place it over him forcing him to come out into the coupling. Add a piece of pipe long enough so he physically has to enter the coupling/pipe to get to the light.

Took a couple of days but he came out. I ended up putting a rock over his hole so he was forced out the bottom. Tomorrow he goes back to my LFS. Thanks all!

I spent 2 hours getting mine out of a hole, but did get him. If you can drop sand around him and turkey baste him to lift his foot the sand will fall under him. Keep working him until his whole foot is on sand, then it will come out.
