Hello! Yesterday we found a ton of anemones stuck to the rocks that are on the beach at Newport Beach, California- Crystal Cove beach. I can't seem to find it though when I search the Internet so was hoping someone here could identify it. Very squishy and in every tide pool. If we extremely gently squished it, it moved. Thanks, guys!

Those are most likely Aggregating anemones (Anthopleura elegantissima). California has some pretty strict rules about tidepool collecting, so check before taking any home.

Thank you! We would never in a million years take any home! We wouldn't anyways but there are signs saying not to. We just could not figure out what they were after many hours searching online so thank you!
