Ever since setting my gyres to do a ‘tida exchange’ standing wave, my favia has been getting crazy polyp extension... to the point that about an hour before ‘sundown’ it’s really fuzzy

Not sure what you mean? dKH of 5? Add baking soda till it is 9 or better yet baked baking soda. Or am I not on the right track? I gotta be missing something?

Yeah, but it’s just in my mixing container.
I had a total brain fart regarding how to recover it, and I’ve been swamped with girls today. Katie has been at ‘virtual cancer meeting’ 8am- 7pm for three days...

I totally forgot about baked baking soda- thanks Victoria

Got to say- I’m loving the look of having a finch of small frag rocks on the sand. I’ve long thought I’d keep the corals on the main rocks, but just something about covering up that sand appeals

got to find me a bowerbankii or something big. Orange rainbow maybe

Got a couple new pierced of livestock coming - another skunk cleaner shrimp because Katie wants to see them dance (?!?) and a 6” wide toadstool that is purported to be a weeping willow... apparently this actual specimen has had 8-9” long polyps in the past, in high flow areas, but has been a little shorter since it’s position got switched around. We’ll see- I’m excited to see if it grows out

Pics at 4.30 after I dip and remount

I am so jealous! I have been wanting a weeping toad stool for so long!
Turns out it probably isn’t a real one. I’m not going to complain though, still looks good, just not quite what I was looking for.

but I might be wrong. It’s been under low to moderate flow apparently so it might adapt with longer polyps if I increase flow. It just seems like the polyp density isn't as high as areal WW, so it won’t look like a mass of swirling spaghetti

Old lights are still up so there’s a bunch of extra wiring, but they will come down on Saturday and I’ll be fully Nooped up (@noopsyche) with 4 K7 Pro IIs

those power supply brackets were courtesy of @dantimdad, and work awesome.

Remember the leather I got- well, it came with a bonus of a massive bacterial bloom that took 10 days to ride out, and the water cleared up in day 11 to reveal a whole load of these flatworms. Great.

I’d say they aren’t AEFW, since it’s been over 2 weeks and I don’t have any Acro- so they’d have starved by now. I’m not sure if there is anything I can really do other than 1) live with it and be ok with them going to Display and hope they are benign 2) clean the entire QT out, dip corals and do that 3-4 times over the next 3 weeks (ugh) 3) flatworm exit?

the problem with 2) is that I only really get 3-4 hours/ week FOR EVERYTHING that isn’t baby related, including yard etc, so getting time to do that is going to be near impossible. Plus I only just broke down and restarted the tank, it would be a pain to do that all again, several times.

anyway- if anyone can offer an ID or strategy, I’d appreciate it! Like I said- glass is covered. I stopped counting at 50 and I’d only done 1/3rd of a front panel.
