The Neptune AFS is best in class for accidentally dumping a bunch of food in to your tank. When you try to pull the cup out to refill it, you have a 50/50 chance of pulling the cover off and dumping a bunch of food into the tank or actually pulling the cup out.

Even pulling the entire unit off the mount first to avoid this happening can result in dumping food in the tank if you tilt it because of the way it dispenses the food. The unit is super loud and has a big foot print.

I like my Apex. I try to stay in the Neptune ecosystem when I can. I really wish they would come out with a better auto feeder that didn't require me to work so hard to not dump a bunch of TDO in my tank when I refill it.

I pop it off the mount for this reason. I don’t love it because it’s so loud but it does do it’s job quite well.

I agree. It gets the job done. To be honest, I'd be happy if they just released an improved cup that you could pop into existing AFS units.

The noise is quite loud, but my fish know it's time for lunch when they hear it.
