Nerite Snail Baby ?

Just wondering if this is a baby nerite. Our nerite tank is full of them. I’ve ruled out trochus/turbo and any kind of collonista snails.

I thought so too, however they dont have enough of a foot on them. Stomas have very small shells and very long foot. We only had one stomatella in this tank and it passed a while ago, Im not sure if they’re hermaphrodites. We do however have many nerites in this tank.

If you have eggs like those on picture attached, that it might be Nerite, however Nerites generally do not breed in aquariums.

I have definitely seen them lay eggs, but the eggs disappear very quickly I’m assuming as they hatch. I will continue to monitor these babies as they grow and see what we’ve got!

Some updated pics. There is more now and they are definitely growing, albeit suuuper slowly. Different colors as well.

None of them have the typical long foot of a stomatella, all the photos of baby stomatellas I can find show they have the long foot quite early on. I also only have a single stomatella adult in the tank and they’re not hermaphrodites from what I can find online.

More updates to come as they get bigger, I have them in a breeder box with my baby Trochus and turbos

Any updates on your little snails?

I have found a small 1 ish cm nerite within the tank, but unsure if it was a hitchhiker into the tank or its one of these babies growing, waiting to find more hopefully. I have literal millions of trochus and turbo babies in the tank as well and the babies I moved into our red sea have hidden in the rocks I’m assuming, so have yet to find determinate proof.

However my nerite adults are mating like crazy and I’m finding more babies of this size. Im very convinced so far. From all of the research I’ve done the babies require pretty specific conditions to successfully grow, and there are also many different species with different parameter preferences so we will see!

Unfortunately I ended up losing all my snails to Dino’s, I am planning on getting more nerites and trying again though! Will update if I have more success next time

Thanks for the pic! These are all over my frag tank since the new clean up crew came in. At first I thought it was a type of coraline, but then I put it under the scope and this is what I saw. Of some of the egg cases I viewed, some were empty. So they are definitely hatching.
