I too am dealing with a flatworm problem red planaria to be exact. I’m going to be dosing flatworm exit. How much carbon is actually needed? I have a 180 gal and don’t really want to buy carbon I won’t use. Is there any brand that’s better than others? Or is all carbon going to do the same job? I’m currently daily siphoning as many out as possible to make the dosing less nerve racking.
Flatworm exit works good. I recommend 80% of recommended dosage and daily siphoning of existing and dead FW.
3-4 cups of carbon should be adequate.

Flatworm exit didnt really do anything for me. Killed all the brittle stars, didn’t bother flatworms.

Anyone else loose brittle star from it? What about sand sifting star? I have both and really don’t want to loose either. What about other inverts?

So question:

After I dose the flatworm exit when doing the carbon will having it in a hang on the back filter be sufficient or will I need to put it in a canister filter? I have a canister filter but it’s on my oscar tank and I’d rather not have to take it off and clean it all out if the hang on the back would be fine. But if you think it’d be risky to use the hang on the back I will clean the canister and use that. Thanks for the help with this
