My 180 is getting closer to water. Cleaned sand this weekend and aquascaping.

120 pounds of Marco shelf rock
8 foundation pieces (flat cut bottoms)
Several pieces of regular Marco rock
~180 pounds total

Still need to cement it together and straighten some of the pieces.

Really happy with it and I think it’ll be good for flow and lots of caves for fish and critters to hide then open space to the right and space on the sand bed for clams and sand creatures.

Thanks!
It’ll be a mixed reef but SPS heavy. I have a 58 gallon up and running with a bunch of stuff that I’ll move over.

SPS up top and lots of lower light areas for chalices and zoas, sandbed for acans and clams.

2 AP700s and T5s for lights.

That is looking great with a good scape.

If you don't mind me asking what kind of filtration are you going to be using?

Plumbed to the basement. 110 gallon Rubbermaid with another 100+ lbs of live rock, chaeto, skimmer... I’ve been running the Triton Method on my 58 for about a year now. Had a hiccup about 6 months ago but besides that have been really happy with it and will setup this system the same way.

Wondering how high you want that left side structure? If you intend on growing coral on top be sure to leave some room for growth. I have a high structure in my tank, mostly because I like how it looks now after 6 months. Will be hard to grow much on long term I suppose. Encrusting coral is the plan I suppose.

Tank and rock work look really good! Nice job!

Yep that top left is pretty far up there. I’m debating whether to keep that piece on the upper left or not. Encrusting sps like you said is probably all I really have room for and removing it would give that much more room for branching pieces.

That would make a great island for a Magnifica anemone once the tank matures a bit. Great job on the aquascape!!
