Just got the water in the new tank....yes it's cloudy as hell. Looking for input on lighting. I was thinking China bb but, Id rather but money in something that's going to last and be on a timer. I was looking at the kessil a160 but wasn't sure if I should step up to the 360 or something else.

The chinese leds you can put on a timer, just buy one of those plugs with a timer on it, and you cant beat the price.

Looks like you didn't rinse your sand long enough. It happens.

I have both a 360 and 160. Based on your tank the 360 will light up all the crevices in the tank, the 160 won't. You will get some shadow spots in the corners.

And at the end it all depends on the corals you want to get, sps dominant go for the 360. Mixed reef 160. Some corals don't appreciate the light that much.

Just be sure to get the programmable kessil so you can get the dusk to dawn effect!

Happy Reefing!

Thanks for the input definitely a beginner at corals so I'm leaning more towards a mixed reef. I just don't really want to rebuy lights down the road. I emailed kessil and they recommended the a360 but of its going to be too much not sure I want that .

In that case 160 is the way to go!

You can always adjust the height, the higher they are the more spread you'll have.

Happy Reefing!

They are wifi controlled through an app, so you do not need a controller

I'm not mad about the hydra I do like that the controller is built in and it comes in white. The only thing I don't like is the mounting I can't get behind my stand now to use there mount amd I was trying to not hang it.....too many decisions though lol

I modified the Kessel goose necks for mine. I also did not want to have the back mounts and also wanted to be able to aim the lights where I want them. I used all the hardware that came with both except I purchased longer screws and used washers and lock washers to make sure that the screw did not go to deep and void the warranty. the lock washers are to hold everything in place.

Those are the 26's? Love your set up
Yes sir, and tankyou. I went with white instead of black. Again I used the flex Kessel goose necks and reinforced the flex side attached to the thank with PVC sprayed black semi gloss.

I bought my goose necks at my LFS they were out on line also. Hint, I cut the 3/4 id pvc 11" to make the goose ridged enough to work. If you have questions please go to the "come join us in our LED-T5's Comparison thread" there are also other Hydra 26 hd member there.
