Hello I'm new to the forum and I have been building a 75 gallon SPS dominant tank. First venture outside a mixed nano. Currently the tank is cycling. So far it has a trigger saphire 26 sump, reef octopus varios 4 return, reef octopus essence s130 skimmer, tunze osmolater ato, and 2x MP40 for flow in the tank. Still need lights and calcium reactor.

Welcome to R2R!

The pics are great and the tank and rock work are really nice looking.

I like your choices for sure.

In the picture, it looks like you may have the drain line connected to the collection going into the sump instead of a separate collection area?

Yes the tank drain connects into the drain section of the sump, which then flows into the filter sock.

The tank is plumbed like this picture from marine depot

Understood. It seems I'm not being clear on my question. I was referring to having the tube connected to the collection waste cup of the skimmer back into the sump itself instead of a waste collection bottle, bucket or another vessel to collect the waste so the skimmer collection cup does not overflow.

Hope that's clearer.

I understand the drain from the tank to the filter sock, I have the emerald.

I was referring to the skimmer. :)
The skimmer is brand new and is overflowing like crazy. As soon as it breaks in the plug will be placed in the collection cup. Sorry I misunderstood your question

Good idea whilst in the nitrogen process.

Sorry I wasn't clearer from the start my friend.

I love your shelf pieces btw. :)
