following this as i just ordered this with VintageReefer talking me into it. Ordered the full plumbing kit as well. However- didn’t see an option for the pump mentioned. But, I think my Sicce Syncra running at 800gph might be ok.

needing some help from all you guys, I got the pump that current USA recommended with this build, I have it sit down at the lowest setting and it’s still overflowing the sump at the first baffle from the overflow of the tank. Making tons of bubbles and overflowing.

is this return pump too strong, or am I just screwing something else up?

do I adjust the gate valve or will that cause the overflow box to overflow?

All going great!!! Starting to cycle today

Had to do quite a bit of reworking on the plumbing from the return pump as you can see.

The current USA pump is great, but was actually a little bit too powerful for this tank. Had to redo the plumbing and put a gate valve after the return pump to be able to make some adjustments. Even at the lowest setting, it was too powerful.

Good to know. I’ll look into that as well.

Is that the 1900gph pump? Are you using it with an RFG?

It could be your listing on matletplace

There shouldn't be many reviews for this tank. It was a limited production by the previous owner of CurrentUSA before they sold to SWA. I have the tank as well. Reinforced the stand and made a few modifications. Can't comment on longevity, because this is the first and last of its kind. I know they used the better German silicone, not the trash used by fill in the blank.

yea probably was. Like JoJo said, they are limited production. You won’t see reviews by anyone except here most likely (which in my opinion are the best reviews). Vintagereefer has detailed explanation on the tank and its build qualities

Got it thanks. I was thinking oF buying the tank only and using my sump and stand. Question: it seems the ghost overflow can be run like a bean animal but everyone is limited to a herbie style due to the small opening in the back of the stand. Any limitations on using this as a bean animal? Even the default setup looks off as the gate valve is used on a combined line while in fact should be used only on the main (not the aux)
Thx again

Mine only has a gate valve on the main line. I think you have to widen the opening or drill a hole for the bean animal third drain into the return. I have plans to do so, but that's far down the list...

I font intend to get the stock stand. My stand is totally open at the back. Do you know how thick is the glass? Is it starfish or not?

Thx
