Hmmmm. Researching adding a refugium . In my sump.
Moved a panel over to separate the skimmer. Added the light. Set the timers opposite the light schedule. Been a productive week for this lady!!

Just when I thought my parameters were in check. My new corals taught me that they aren't. Thanks to this group for the information and support. I knew about the calcium and was trying to keep the levels up. What I didn't know was to test the magnesium, which is the reason my calcium stayed depleted. I scrambled to the store and am on it. Fingers' crossed that we can correct the issue.

Issue corrected and corals are doing well. Lost the one frogspawn, and my poor little duncan. The rest are on the mend and looking health again. I fought to keep the calcium up. Then a R2R member told me about the magnesium levels and calcium. Thank goodness. All seems well on my personal oceanfront once again!

Successfully added a few new fish and an anemone. I've named the anemone "Scarlett" as in O'Hara. Such a drama queen. LOVE the lawnmower Blenny. Aka "chubs". He's so entertaining and effective! Watching the blue stripe neon goby tend to the other fish is cool to watch. Enjoying m tank daily.

The anemone wasn't enjoying the change to my tank. I took the lid off for maintenance and within aprox 20 minutes, the anemone picked back up. Just coincidence, or light penetration? I'm not sure. I took the lid off and have kept it off, wondering if that's why I had lost the frogspawn after all? Now having to top off my water every other day, I remember why I kept the lid on in the first place. I may try to place the lid back on the tank and watch to see if Scarlett fairs well? Trial by error? If she turns back into her dramatic self, it was in fact the lid and light penetration. If she's fine, then is was the lower lv calcium after all. Learning my tank. I cleaned out my refugium and rid the chaeto of the medusa worms while outside the tank. Careful to not put that water back into the tank. However, I see several worms in my main tank now and don't want to upset them via removal and risk wiping out my tank. I dipped everything I put in my tank, but still assume it was the elegance coral, with all of it's nooks and crannies. However they got there, the are there. Still debating on how to handle them. I prefer not having something in my tank that could potentially wipe it out. But yet, here we are.

Hello fellow reefers. Time for an update and a question or two to go with it. It seems I'm still battling algae. Does it ever end?? I see so many spotless tanks out there. Hooooow do they do it?! Also. I went away for a week and when I came home I found these white "egg pods(?)". I'm hoping they are just copepods and nothing to worry about. Help ID please. Also, please see in the following Picts. I seem to have some seaweed(?) growing in a spot or two in the tank. I can only assume it's from feeding nori. Again, help with Id would be appreciated. As always, thanks!
