New Build FijiCube 108 EXT

As promised, build thread as a new member :-)

Super short backstory - After ~7 years our old stand had a fair amount of salt creep/ water damage and our 90 gal was showing it's age in the silicone sealing, so we decided to make some upgrades/ changes!

Fiji Cube 108 EXT arrival

Custom steel /wood stand made by a friend arrived too

Sorting out plumbing, old tank still up

Moving and transferring from the old setup to the new one

Only casualty was the crab

Water clearing up with all the live rock/ our few corals plopped on the sandbed

A few days of cursing at rocks and this appeared

A few more and the tank's rockscaping was taking a good shape, we wanted to maintain lots of room for waterflow, coral growth, and visibility from 3 sides as the tank is central in our home

Decided to upgrade lights

Loving the shimmer

Sump exposed

With new tank, even with liverock that's been in our old tank for years, got a cyano outbreak briefly

Cleared up and keeping on adding corals

One of our longest tank residents is the Utter Chaos front and center. Grown from 3 polyps to around 70 and counting...

I have there nano peninsula running for a while but been looking at the 81/108 EXT as well.

Thanks! It’s very overbuilt, can handle ~ 20,000 lbs load and is epoxy sealed as the last stand was the prompt to change everything out

Have made some changes to the rockscape mostly, also have a few new corals and a bit of growth in the last couple months :)
