guessing during these times with alot at home time I decided to jump into the hobby

purchased a 240 gallon tank 96x24x24
Found a spot for it and started working
Would love feed back and suggestions

I set the tank in the wall cut holes out to run pluming my issue it it will be a little bit of a distance to the sump around the return the further one sits 7 ft and then comes to a 12 wall and then into the fish room .
I have a reeflo yellow tail head presure around 36 do you think this will be ok ?
And also I ran 3/4 tub for return and the head is 1.5 in a reduced is needed I will provly have to put another pump in for a manifold in the future

Hello,

glad you got the build thread going. I think the reeflo will work if the run is horizontal, or you pumping up a floor. If you are planning a manifold down the road it may not hurt to put a bigger pump in now Instead of 2.

I would say go 1” on the plumbing. 3/4 is like putting a rev limiter on a Porsche, would be the best way I could describe it. It will work and go fast, but you will want wide open.

@Crabs McJones can this move to member tank or discussion the same?

This forum is appropriate for large tank builds :)

If the holes for return are drilled 3/4 how can I change that or just run 1 in and then a reducer right befor them ?

I am surprised they are 3/4 on that size. Than the 3/4 would make sense.
