I meant the in dash display crap..someone else is tuning my pcm for me. At least until I Learn more about it

Headers yes..cold air..don't bother lol there are several studies done with dyno to prove that they will lose you a couple hp compared to (most) stock airboxes..better to go with a full high flow exhaust and keep your $300 in your pocket (or tank lol) rather than in K&N's already splitting wallets lol
Cat converters are super restrictive..some people chop them, which can cause problems with fuel mileage as the o2 sensor behind the cat freaks out and starts jacking with air fuel mix cause it thinks its pumping WAY too much fuel in..high flow cat, better flowing muffler, headers, and possibly .5inch bigger exhaust will help with a few horsepower, especially if you go forced induction as it will be able to keep up with the air coming in..

I joined a Grand Prix forum actually and have been following guidelines on safely modding my 3800 powered car. Google it, its awesome! So much help in one post its amazing for us who know little about cars.
The stock air filter is huge, but the air box only has a 3.25 opening. This leaves a small circle of actual filtration, there's a circle of dust on it. Soooo, I took it apart, pulled out the restrictive piping and kept the front half of the box for my pcm to set on. The air filter sits ontop o that.
K&n can kiss my tush. My whole intake was $16. I do want to replace the corrugated hose with straight pipe though. That will run me a little more but will be a little smoother and look sharp. I am also making a heat shield that routs air from the wheel well and the original air box since I have such a huge filter.
And as for the sensors in the exhaust there are o2 sims, or sensor extensions. Either one I use will work fine. Granted I find someone who tunes pcms well.

If I do every mod on the thread I'm reading I can get up to 450hp at the wheels. At least that's what they tell me lol.
That would end up costing me more than the car did but it would be cheaper than buying a new car with that much balls. I'm thinking of taking automotive courses, since aquariums are not a high dollar business around here. I don't get near the business the guys on tanked get lol. Maybe use my car as my homework lol.

Well...good. Lol sounds like you're getting good advice..yea I just have a spark plug anti fouler on the rear O2 of my camaro lol..need to get pcm tuned, but don't know anybody to do it for free LOL
And yea, these 3800 engines are tanks as long as you know the do and do nots lol

I am slowly learning more and more. I had an 89 Grand Prix that was a beast...but didn't know squat. Now with my 04 gt I feel like I finally may be into it enough to get into it, especially after owning a hybrid civic and a cutlass...balls? What are those?
Its like failing with a biocube then setting up a drilled 90g with a full blown basement sump! Yes with the wrong parts I could have waves floods and electricity everywhere, but thanks to forums like this every hobby can really succeed.
Jeesh, even the lounge had hidden wisdom! I'm getting great dog training advice for my super genius problem dog when others would say shoot her!
