Hey everyone!
So I set up my take a little over 2 months ago. I started with two astrea snails, then two blue leg hermit crab, and as of last week two juvenile clown fish.
The smaller one had an appetite within the next day and eats brine shrimp, hikari marine pellets (small), and hikari seaweed extreme pellets (small). The other one, the slightly larger one, won’t eat a dang thing. In the last week, he’s caught two tiny pellets but spit them back out.
What should I do? Is he okay? How long can he go without eating?

Try soaking the pellets in some tank water first to let them soften up.

Ive had good luck with TDO chromaboost pellets where hikari and NLS wouldnt be taken by the fish.

I tried soaking them as well, but he didn’t seem to care. I will definitely try the TDO chromaboost and see if he takes it.
I’m also going to buy flakes to see if maybe it likes floating food better, as well as cyclopeeze.
I have so many different variety of food now ‍

Thank you!

Any live food suppliers around your area?

you can order live blackworms online. Hopefully will arrive in time before it starves.

Also, any chance to remove it to a quarantine container or another tank by itself so you can feed it without others getting greedy?

I was thinking about quarantining it so it’s the only fish that’s eating at once. But the other clown minds it’s own business :’(

I will go to the store and see if I can find some black worms and see what they say

My clown is now just swimming diagonally most of the day, mostly towards the top of the tank, and he is breathing pretty heavy from what it looks like. Could this be die to a disease or parasite?

well he's dead... :(
If he wasnt eating, it was likely already too late without professional interventional knowledge.

Not your fault but rather the fault of the fish trade and the practice of masking 90% of parasites until they make it home to your tank.

Some due dilligence always needed before bringing any fish home is to witness it eating at the store first.
