I really like how the plumbing turned out. I'm hoping there are no leaks. It's been a long time getting here. I'm ready to get water in!

Did u go over the tank or cut a bulkhead in back of your glass for your return?

I'm debating on getting an apex but I have a couple of questions. 1. Is the Gold "that" much better that it justifies the price? 2. How can I put this into my sump space (I have a 60 cube) without it getting wet and jamming things in there.

I think most people go with the standard apex, and then add on the extras they want. I went with the gold for the salinity probe (I know it's not necessary but I'm a worrier/future helicopter parent).

Wow, good on you for getting back at it. I'm setting up a Marineland 60 and using the same sump. I'm more impressed with my sump then the tank.:D
Plumbing looks great by the way.

That's what I thought would be best but I also like the salinity probe. That's what makes me like the gold as well.

Thanks! I do love the sump. It's so well made and has a lot of neat add ons. I am most proud of my plumbing haha. It took forever because I'm busy at work but I'm excited to get it going.

I'm going to get one of the Apex and if anyone has a picture of a smaller setup with it in the sump that I can get an idea from that'd be great! I know I can figure something out but I'd like to see what's worked before I mess up something like that.

You are doing a great job! I have a 56 gal cube and I am gathering the parts to to build my first reef tank. Can you explain how the emergency drain works?
Thanks!

I saw a lot of people would use 45 degree elbows on their durso style and full siphon line to make it as straight down as possible. You also submerge those lines so that they can form a siphon. The emergency drain uses the 90 elbows and is above water level so that I can hear it falling through the pipe and splashing. Splashing is a sign that somethings wrong in this system. I hope I answered your question!

By the way, I really appreciate all of you guys support. It's really what kept me wanting to have a tank. I wouldn't be a part of r2r if I didn't have my tank.

I never stated this but this tank was built by Planet Aquariums. Just for those that may use them in the future. They did a great job making it clean and I asked to sturdy it up so they eurobraced it. Nice people and great work.

front view of the rocks. I hate pictures vs real.

Top view. I used BRS thick gel and some rods to hold it better. The outside of the tape is the glass edge. I wanted to leave enough room for my magfloat to go all the way around so the inside line of the tape is that "room".

Looks really good. I know what you mean by the pics. I was playing with my rocks last night, took a few pics and they looked like a blob lol.
