I have a 40 breeder with 1 clown fish, 1 banggai cardinal, 1 flame hawk, and 1 melanurus wrasse. Im looking for suggestions for more fish stocking! 370317004_1334218800569776_7614084016194964138_n.jpg

First consider the advantage of a lightly stocked aquarium, sooner or later there will be equipment failure and the more heavily stocked a system is the quicker things will can go wrong. There's also grwo out to consider, as generally if a fish doubles in length as it grows it's body mass may increase by a factor of 4 or 6 so you effective bioload has increased by 4 or 6 times. So after figuring your systems biomass in a year or to after everything has grown and you still think you have room for more biomass I'd suggest more Bangii Cardinals, they will do better with a small group of 3-5. You could also get another clown and/or a pair or trio of Orchid Dottybacks or Royal Grammas or Assessors, keep in mind you can't mix them!

How about pairing up the clown, midas blenny (open swimming and fun fish), pygmy angelfish (blue) and maybe a few Yellow Tail Damsels for splashes of color that don't bother any other fish.

I dunno how my Bangai and Clown would go for aother one of the same kind. They are both pretty mean... the clown bites me, and gets mad when the Hawkfish sits near his rock. and the Bangai is gets pretty ticked at the Hawk when he sits on the bottom near his cave.

I added 2 Firefish, 1 red and 1 purple. So I got 6 fish total now. I want to add a cleaner shrimp, would any of them be safe with my fish?
I don’t think it would go well with your hawk fish. A couple more fish to consider, royal gramma and yellow tail damsel.
